Filter Adhesives and Urethane Resin End Cap and Gasket Systems
Polaris Polymers develops and manufacturers adhesives for bonding demanding pressure driven spiral wound membranes, hollow tube construction separation process applications, medical device assembly, air filter end cap potting, and gaskets.

Membrane Bonding Adhesives for Spiral Wound Filters
Separation process filters for the reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and microfiltration markets require specialized and highly engineered membranes. These membranes permit the movement of materials only up to certain character, shape or size in the biotechnology, chemical, environmental protection, food, industrial and water markets. Polaris' adhesives are designed to bond these membranes.

PF1001
This two-component thixotropic polyurethane adhesive is suitable for use in bonding wet or dry separation process membranes. Economical system, it has a 2:1 (by volume) mix ratio. For use in the pH range of 2 - 12. Meets extraction requirements of and approved by 21 CFR 175.300

PF1003
This two-component thixotropic polyurethane adhesive is suitable for use in bonding wet or dry separation process membranes. It has a 2:1 (by volume) mix ratio. Similar to the PF1001 in performance, but with greater sag resistance to hold a bead better. For use in the pH range of 2 - 12. Meets extraction requirements of and approved by 21 CFR 175.300


PF2001
This two-component high performance polyurethane system offers excellent resistance to acidic and basic solutions even at elevated temperatures. It also exhibits excellent adhesion to wet and dry separation process membranes, and eliminates channeling. 1:1 by volume mix ratio. For use in the pH range of 0 - 14. Meets extraction requirements of and approved by 21 CFR 175.300


Outer Wrap

PF7000
This two-component odorless epoxy system is designed for bonding the outer wrapping of separation process filters. Its low viscosity allows for rapid penetration of glass filaments. Mix ratio 2:1 by volume. High Tg = 120 C

Urethane Resins for Bonding Hollow Tube Filters and Medical Device Assembly

PF1000
This two-component, low viscosity product is an extremely good plastic and all-purpose urethane adhesive. It has a low viscosity and achieves very good bonds to: polycarbonate; PVC; polysulfone; styrene butadiene rubber blended with natural rubber; acrylics; many metals; woods; and most painted surfaces. It can be used in medical device assembly and hollow fiber potting. Hardness = Shore 95A Economical system, it has a 2:1 (by volume) mix ratio. Long gel time at 25C - 58 minutes. Meets extraction requirements of and approved by 21 CFR 175.300


PF1005
This two-component, low viscosity, and clear polyurethane system is UV stable. It is designed for potting and sealing applications in biomedical devices, label doming and bonding hollow fiber separation process membranes. Faster gel time - 10 minutes at 25C; 5 minutes at 35C and 4 minutes at 48C. It has a 100:61 (by volume) mix ratio. Meets extraction requirements of and approved by 21 CFR 175.300



Air Filter End Cap Bonding and Gasket Urethane Resin

PF3001
This Shore 75 - 80A, low viscosity, fast curing - 75 second gel time, two-component, tough, resilient and flexible room temperature curing urethane is suitable for air filter end cap bonding and urethane gaskets. Mix ratio approximately 3:1 by volume.
